We are delighted to say we now offer special discount fares for young adults and full-time students travelling on our daily services from Donegal to Dublin and other local routes.
In order to avail of the YAC (Young Adult Card) fares you need to book your seat online on www.johnmcginley.com. Due to LEAP card conditions YAC fares are not available to buy on the coach.
The Young Adult Leap Card discount is available to all 19 to 23-year-olds right up to their 24th birthday. The Student Leap Card remains available to students in full-time education who are 24 years old and above.
It is welcomed as a major boost for college students traveling with us to colleges in Dublin such as Trinity, UCD and DCU, and Dublin students attending institutions such as Atlantic Technological University – Donegal Letterkenny Campus, formerly Letterkenny Institute of Technology (LYIT).
The fare reductions for young people, in some cases as much as 50 per cent, was introduced by the Government in Budget 2022 as a permanent measure and it took effect from May 9th, 2022, but now it has been rolled out further to include private coach companies like McGinley Coach Travel.
Students and young adults have long been valued passengers at McGinley Coach Travel and we hope that our inclusion on this scheme will see a real benefit to them as they strive to continue their education.
Announcing the news Transport Minister, Eamon Ryan, said it was important to include commercial coach operators to take part in the scheme to offer greater flexibility and access for students and young people across the country.
We look forward to welcoming all students on our daily Donegal to Dublin, Dublin Donegal Services and wish them well for the year ahead.
You can apply for a Young Adult Leap Card online today through www.leapcard.ie.
Happy travels!
